Gundam SEED

SEED Run Tactics Episode 1: The Empty Battlefield

To celebrate the release of Gundam SEED Freedom, refresh our memories, and indulge in a bit of nostalgia, we're doing commentary tracks for the three Gundam SEED Special Edition movies, starting with movie 1, The Empty Battlefield. Many things happened! How many jokes about teenage sex will the hosts make like it’s totally normal? What important council meetings couldn't be cut from this movie? And will Geremy's ego survive him not being able to cut out his own flubs and mistakes?

These commentary tracks our designed to be listened to while you watch the movies, so if you have them, dust them off, dig out an old DVD player and watch along!  And if you don't have the movies... they're really not worth tracking down, so just remember how good Gundam SEED was. Gundam SEED was good

Phase 16: Please Don’t Let Neo Roanoke Realize I’m Stoned

It's that time again, time for Gundam SEED Destiny, now with Phase 16.  Shin is madder than ever, and Zach is mad at him!  Gladys makes jokes about how cute and popular she is, and we make jokes about that!  Plus, the Gaia Gundam activates its secret technique: Jesus Mode.

Out of Phase: SEED Retrospective

Hey everyone! It’s been a fun ride to the end of SEED, and we took a while at the end of It’s a Gundam! Gaiden! to talk about our thoughts on the show before diving into Destiny. As promised, we answer questions that you all submitted to us on the Discord, in addition to watching the official epilogue, and the first two of the Gundam SEED Character Theater shorts. Fair warning: this is a long one at nearly 2 hours, so strap in.

Phase 48: End of Days

Well, we’ve finally made it. Powered by the ghosts of his enemies (and some friends), Kira finally defeats the Joker. Also, Cagalli saves Athrun, and everyone lives happily ever after. Except Mu, who just lives ever after. Finally, the long journey has ended, and the seed has blossomed. Into PTSD.

Phase 47: Cagalli Rents a Suit

Things really heat up as we descend into the final moments of the war. Lacus’s seed finally blossoms, Natarle redeems herself, Flay makes some friends, and, most importantly… Cagalli gets a mobile suit! Too bad she only gets to use it for 5 minutes. Join us on this, the penultimate episode, and ride this crazy thing to the end.

Phase 45: N Jammer Jammer Jammas

Why do we even have nuclear weapons? Or guns, or giant robots for that matter? Oh, that’s right. It’s to kill all our enemies. Kill them all without mercy. Then we win! That’s what Zach and Azrael say anyway. Can Lacus Clyne’s talk of peace and giant mobile suit based missile launchers stop a nuclear attack force? And if not, can a Deathstar piloted by buddy cop duo Rau and Pat? Tune in to find out.

Phase 44: PTSD: Post Traumatic Sex Disorder

The key to ending the war is finally in the hands of the one person who should be allowed to use it: Azrael! Such an upstanding young man will clearly exercise the utmost caution and wisdom. Flay hand delivers it, and this reminds Kira that maybe he wasn’t a great boyfriend. Also, the Vesalius finally goes down in dramatic fashion.

Phase 43: Full Mark Hamill

Things are really coming to a head as the Joker decides to confess his motivation to his “twin” brother, and also that Kira kid I guess. Yzak and Dearka finish up their reunion to mutual dissatisfaction, and Natarle’s proving her mettle, despite Azrael’s back seat captaining. Flay’s about to be relevant again! But only for a minute. Also, I’m going to claim that I called the Mu/Rau clone thing, because close enough.

Phase 42: The Pledge, The Turn, The Rauveal

Here at the Mendel Colony, we specialize in genetic experimentation and melodrama! Gaze in wonder at the masked gentleman’s nebulous relationships! Be baffled by the specially engineered (but never explained) powers of bullshit the SEED! Gaze on as two angsty teenagers grow into slightly less shitty people!

Phase 41: Dominion to E4

Finally, Natarle gets a ship of her own! Unfortunately, she uses the silly little phone on it to tell Maru that the Dominion’s about to blast her to bits. Whoops. Thankfully, a wild Kira appears to fight back! Unthankfully, the Archangel fails an acrobatics check and gets caught in some tethering lines. Also, we get the best Cagali this show will produce.
